Ramp Refusal,
When I presented this device to my 12 year old Labrador bitch âSashâ she looked at me as if I was insane.
Problem is, although she cannot now independently access the load compartment of my vehicle, due to arthritic hips â she simply wonât admit it.
Sash flatly refused to entertain utilising the ramp and insists it is completely unnecessary as she is perfectly capable of getting in and out of the vehicle without mechanical aids.
It is perfectly clear to everyone that this is not factually accurate and much like Nicola Sturgeons Brexit stance her position is untenable and based on fabricated evidence.
In an attempt to incentivise participation I deployed several strategically placed sausages (Willie Winkies) both on the ramp and also within my boot, unfortunately, Sash, although now elderly and suffering diminished physical capabilities, retains all her mental faculties and quickly deduced my machinations and was not tempted by the meaty lures.
At this point I called for reinforcements, and managed to convince my wife to simulate the access procedure for the dogs benefit. (Hoping to convince Sash that if the ramp was safe enough for humans then it would also be appropriate for Labradors) Needless to say the sight of Mrs A on all fours, crawling up a device designed for creatures of much less mass than her, whilst simultaneously complaining that it is wobbly and her knees were sore, did absolutely nothing to change the Dog/Ramp impasse.
Sadly I have given up trying to get Sash to accept the ramp and continue to manually lift her in and out of my car.
Nevertheless I have retained the ramp, which (due to my dislike of Peter Capaldi) I intend to use to assist the Daleks at any future invasion.
